Webinar: Challenging the land impacts of the energy sector

Taking place on Tuesday 10 June from 12:00-13:00 UTC / 14:00-15:00 CEST, this webinar will explore the land impacts of the energy sector, specifically with regard to fossil fuels and clean energy through two presentations of critical mapping work in the field. The first, by Jeremy Bourgoin (CIRAD and ILC) and Johanna von Braun (ILC), will discuss the impact of energy transition related projects – particularly in the mining sector – on indigenous and community land rights. The second, by Lauren Nel (Natural Justice), will look at legal data on energy projects across the African continent, providing insights into the legal status, environmental impact, and court cases surrounding energy projects.
