The size of the total area that the investor intends to acquire, or more specifically, for which the investor intends to acquire land use, control or ownership rights as part of this land deal.\n\nPlease note: The area that has already been acquired should be taken into account. For example, if an investor already has 1,000 ha and expresses an interest in acquiring another 1,000 ha, the overall intended area size is 2,000 ha. It is also important to be aware that investors may carry out several projects which are listed separately, but that “intended size” refers to the area the investor intends to acquire in the context of each specific deal. If, for example, you discover out that an investor that operates different projects aims to expand its total land area in a country up to 10,000 ha (without further geographic specification), you should not enter this as “intended size” because this information relates to all projects of the investor, not just to this particular one. Likewise, you may find information on an intended expansion that relates to projects that are not yet listed in the Land Matrix and should also not be included here.\n\nPlease make sure you enter all data on size in hectares.
