The land was allocated to NREA (an affiliate of the Ministry of Electricity) by presidential decree number 116/2016 in March 2016. NREA have granted Lekela access to the land in order to undertake development activities until Financial Close. At Financial Close, Lekela will sign a Usufruct Agreement (lease) with NREA for the life of the project.
