The company have re-applied for an extension of the term of its mining lease. The Chirano mining lease expired on April 7, 2019 and an application to extend the term of the mining lease was filed prior to its expiration. On August 9, an extension for an additional 15 years was received, subject to finalizing details of a new mining lease with the Government of Ghana. A proposed new mining lease submitted by the Government of Ghana was signed in December 2019. The lease is currently awaiting final ratification by Parliament.
