Al Qudra Holding plans to buy about 400,000 hectares of land in the Middle East, Africa and the Far East by the first quarter of 2009 to boost its agriculture operations, reported The National. Al Qudra Agriculture plans to grow corn, wheat and rice as well as raise cattle for local and foreign markets. The UAE-based company is negotiating to buy land in Pakistan, Syria, Vietnam, Thailand, Sudan and India, and has already acquired 1,500 hectares of land in Morocco and Algeria.

Abu Dhabi, Mar.6th, 2007(WAM)--Al Qudra Holding signed an 'Article of Association' on Tuesday with Saudi Greenhouse Management and Agriculture Marketing Company to launch Al Qudra Agriculture LLC. The partnership deal was prompted by the need to meet the increased demand for high quality agriculture products . "We need to emphasize on the importance of advancing the agricultural field in the region and increase the awareness and advantages of biological and organic products to the market," said Salah Salem Bin Omeir Al Shamsi, Chairman and Managing Director, Al Qudra Holding during a press conference. "With the expertise of the Saudi Greenhouse Management and Agricultural Marketing Company we will also establish greenhouses equipped with the latest technology systems to Abu Dhabi and the region." Owned 70% by Al Qudra Holding and 30% by the Saudi Greenhouse Management & Agriculture Marketing Company, Al Qudra Agriculture LLC will be based in Abu Dhabi.
