Previously owned by Enya Holdings BV. The Baluba Center deposit was discovered in 1928, but only came into full production in 1973. Five years later, mining was suspended. The mine was subsequently taken over by ZCCM, the predecessor of ZCCM-IH. In 2004, the Luanshya Mine was acquired by ENYA Holdings BV and production was resumed, but it was suspended again in 2008.
