former concession: the “title had been held since 2003 by Société d’Exploitation Forestière et Construction SPRL (Soexforco), whose CEO, Jihad Abbas Bakri, is also the CEO of BBC [the investor]”. In December 2003, for financial reasons Soexforco sought to transfer its logging title to BBC. This never occurred, instead in 2011 BBC was granted the concession.
