Comment on investment chain
AgDevCo is working in collaboration with the Ministry of Food and Agriculture to develop Bamboi. No international actors have invested in the Bamboi irrigation scheme.
The Babator Irrigated Farming Hub (BIFH) is an agricultural project in northern Ghana, covering a 10,369-hectare concession, with over 5,000 hectares of irrigable land. However, in the case, only 4,500 hectares of this total are referenced. The project is developed and managed by AgDevCo, an impact investment organization specializing in African agriculture. Within BIFH, the Babator Farming Company Limited (BFC) was established as a 356-hectare irrigated commercial farm. In December 2021, Oba Pack Company Limited, a Ghanaian agro-industrial company, acquired BFC from AgDevCo. Therefore, while AgDevCo retains ownership and overall management of the Babator Irrigated Farming Hub, Babator Farming Company Limited is currently owned by Oba Pack Company Limited.
