Estate Management Services Ltd. (EMS) is currently the holding company managing Watawala Plantations PLC, Hatton Plantations PLC and Watawala Tea Ceylon Ltd. (WTCL) – two of Sri Lanka’s most profitable plantations and leading tea brands.
Previously, EMS is managed under a tripartite ownership between Sunshine Holdings PLC, Pyramid Wilmar, and Tata Global Beverages, with each party holding equal shares. However, in 2017, Tata Global Beverages exits the tripartite ownership further increasing the shares of Sunshine Holdings PLC to 60% and Pyramid Wilmar to 40%. Tata Global Beverages will take on a revised role in EMS handlings it's international branding and marketing.
