The Lamandau Regency Government was deemed indecisive and allowed PT SHS to continue operating in the disputed area even after a community action asked the company not to operate, especially on disputed land.

In May 2018, , a number of representatives came to the Central Jakarta Police Criminal Investigation Building, reporting allegations of legal violations by PT Gemareksa Mekarsari and PT Satria Hupasarana (SHS) referring to illegal forest cultivation, grabbing of ex-transmigrant lands, and fraudulent partnerships with plasma farmers whose plasma land is considered the company's core land. In 2018, Central Kalimantan Governor has received a report regarding a land dispute between PT Satria Hupasarana (SHS) and the people of Bukit Raya Village, Menthobi Raya District. After going through several hearings and appeals to cassation, until the issuance of the Supreme Court decision, the decision was not immediately executed. (2021) The company is not allowing the members of the community entry to the despite the decision of the court last November 2014, the parties has different interpretations of the ruling and are waiting from the supreme court and the local police are mediating between the two parties.

PT Gemareksa Mekarsari had remaining production arrears to the cooperative from May to Nov 2018 (with arrears from several periods). These are related to the livelihoods of members of the nine cooperatives which reaches 8461 people.
