Villagers have requested land titles; they reportedly have been told that receiving titles depends on their loyalty to a party (CPP) in upcoming elections; one interviewee said that “Sok Chenda, president of the youth volunteers, and Kim Lour, a CPP local official, said in a meeting [… that] if the party [was] not elected, […] all the land in the district [would] be given to the company” (http://www.phnompenhpost.com/national/villagers-camp-out-protest-%E2%80%98land-grab%E2%80%99 ) In 2022, a concession close by to this one was granted to the company KP Cement (Deal 9819) for the purpose of a feasibility study for limestone mining. Even though the area is located in protected forest land massive logging activities started soon after. A road was logged, connecting Think Biotech’s concession and the limestone mine – timber transports were sighted. It can be assumed that there is some form of arrangement between KP Cement and Think Biotech, where illegally logged timber from the former is processed by the latter, building some form of laundering operation
