Comment on contract farming
In the area of Ayenouan, contract farmers get paid to a percentage of the net profits derived from the palm oil produced from their land. In 2015, the company signed a ground breaking agreement with a smallholder, whereby the smallholder will be partly paid in company shares in exchange for palm fruits.
The supervision of local smallholders, whose combined areas are about 17,000 hectares of palm groves. They signed long-term supply contracts with Dekel-Oil, which has undertaken to purchase all of their production and to take over the transport of fresh fruit to the factory. The price paid to farmers is set by the Interprofessional Association of the Oil Palm Sector (AIPH). This award takes into account the quality of the production received.
Dekel-Oil signed a contract to purchase the production of the members of the Coopalen cooperative, whose plantations together cover an area of 10,000 hectares. The 20-year contract becomes effective at the start of effective operation of the mill (marked by the production of 1,000 tonnes per year
