Comment on former land use

The National Forestry Authority stated that the local communities living on the project land were illegal encroachers on forest land and that their evictions were justified.The reserve has been degraded by illegal timber trading, agricultural encroachment, and grazing, reducing it from high tropical forest to grasslands, bushlands, and diminishing indigenous woodlands.
