Prior to the arrival of SOCFIN, the agricultural activity of women was of chief economic importance within communities. As the basis of much of the social interaction within villages, it also played a key social role. The changes in access to and control over land following the lease agreement removed the base materials of this activity from local women, creating a wide economic and social gap in communities. Women of Sierra leone has marched to encourage members of parliament to vote for the Customary Rights Land Bill, 28 July 2022.
