In April, 2019, the UAE and Saudi Arabia deposited Dh1.8 billion (US$500m) into the Central Bank of Sudan as part of the Dh 11 billion (US$3b) grant to help the country. Earlier, Adfd dispatched 540,000 tonnes of wheat worth Dh550 million (US$150m) to meet the country’s urgent food needs. The fund also sent school supplies that will support 400,000 students. The Gulf countries also send medicine, petroleum derivatives and agricultural supplies to Sudan.
