This land was purchased by Adeco Agropecuaria (Adecoagro) to Pecom Agropecuaria (Argentina), which was then the third argentinan agricultural company. Adecoagro was created at the same time. Then it expanded a lot, and very quickly purchasing farms and plants agrofuels, milk, mills) in Argentina, Uruguay and Brazil. In three years, the firm completed eight acquisitions investing approximately US$140 million, reaching over 297,000 acres of farmland.
