Although the wind farm is fully operational, the installations occupy less than 10% of the total area, similar to how wind farms typically use a small portion of the land. This design allows local livestock activities to continue uninterrupted.

The wind farm owner leases the land. Only a small percentage of the land area is occupied by the wind farm, which enables farming activities mainly sheep grazing.

According to the sources of information, the environmental permits were obtained in 2010, and construction began in 2013. Therefore, it is estimated that the land lease agreements were concluded around that same year. This timing allowed for the commencement of construction and the subsequent development of the project​.

The project construction commenced in 2013 and subsequently entered into commercial operation in November 2014.Other data source indicated that Cookhouse received Environmental Authorisation for the construction of 200 wind turbines in May 2010, construction commenced in June 2012 and commercial operation was achieved in November 2014.
