The project will become the first utility-scale solar PV plant in Ethiopia connected to the national grid.The Metehara solar power PV project was identified in the Master Plan for wind and solar energy (HydroChina 2012) and later elaborated by Ethiopian Electric Power (EEP) through the Power Africa Transactions and Reform Program (PATRP).
