The project is supposedly "Uganda’s largest sustainable plantation forestry operation". Trough a licensing agreement, NFC has committed to a minimum 50 years of forestry activities in the reserve, with operations certified to the Forest Stewardship Council's ten principles. NFC was certified to FSC in May of 2009
