Impact Energy Asia Development Limited (“IEAD”) (previously Impact Energy Asia Limited) entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (“MOU”) with the Government of Lao PDR (“GOL”) in November 2011 to exclusively study the feasibility of large-scale wind projects in three provinces in central and south of Lao PDR.

The construction of the wind farm commenced in April 2023. The project has begun installing wind power turbines. The facility is expected to start commercial operations in 2025.

The estimated cost of the Project is USD946 million. AIIB’s loan is USD72.55 million and the rest is to be funded by the Sponsor and other financial institutions including ADB and Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA).
