Land Inequality Week
2020-11-20
Land inequality is on the rise. Globally, the top 10% of landowners of rural populations capture 60% of agricultural land value, while the bottom 50% of rural populations capture only 3% of land value. These are just some of the shocking findings that will be presented at the launch of the Land Inequality Initiative’s new research report Uneven Ground: Land Inequality at the Heart of Unequal Societies on 24 November. The launch will kick off a week of virtual events to understand why land inequality is a serious problem, and what we should be doing about it.
