The exploration and exploitation contract to Hocol, a subsidiary of Ecopetrol, was granted in 2006 by the National Hydrocarbons Agency, attached to the Ministry of Mines and Energy, for an initial period of 30 years, for the gas exploration and production phases. The total area of the contract is approximately 240 thousand hectares. They carry out social responsibility projects with the communities where the company is present.
