The exploration of the wind power potential in the state of Piauí is extremely recent and is in full expansion, an example is precisely the rapid implementation of the wind complex in question. There are no impacts or conflicts registered so far in relation to the implementation of wind farms, but the trend is for this to happen soon. Furthermore, it is important to highlight that Piauí is a state of expansion of the agricultural frontier, including the regionalization of MATOPIBA (formed by 337 municipalities in the states of Maranhão, Tocantins, Piauí and Bahia) and considered as the last agricultural frontier in areas of Thick. Thus, Piauí has been the target of capital expansion from different exploration fronts (agribusiness, wind and solar energy). The conflicts generated by the territorialization of agribusiness are already a reality, with the rapid advance of wind projects, it is estimated that this will intensify. Recent studies suggested that the project will have direct impact in the local arqueological sites.
