Comment on land area
1000000 ha of production intended (http://www.jornalcana.com.br/biosugar-en/raizen-intends-to-reach-1-million-hectares/). The situation of land holding is not entirely clear: the company's sustainability report (2011/2012, p. 12) mentions 860000 ha of cultivated land but this area is held by different actors. 106000 ha are held by Radar Propriedades (#4574), further raw material is supplied from land held by "strategic partners" (http://en.raizen.com.br/en/raizen/strategic-partnerships ) and from farmers (Raízen Group Report 2014, p. 52). Part of the land has probably been acquired before 2000 because Cosan has been acquiring land since the 80's

case needs to be split up - area is held by different actors, like, inter alia, one of the secondary's sister company, Radar Propriedades (#4574): it is not entirely clear to what extend #4574 and #768 overlap. Further raw material for this project is supplied from land held by "strategic partners" (http://en.raizen.com.br/en/raizen/strategic-partnerships ) and from farmers (Raízen Group Report 2014, p. 52). Part of the land has probably been acquired before 2000 because Cosan has been acquiring land since the 80's.
