Japanese Mitsui has many agricultural investment all over the world , but in 2011, it completed 100% ownership of brazilian Multigrain. Mitsui group bought 100 000 ha of land in the western part of Bahia state, western part of Minas Gerais state and southern part of Maranhao state. Mitsui bought these lands in 2007 with two partnersthrough the brazilian group Multigrain SA (in which it entered the same year). In that time, the japanese enterprise was minoritary but in 2011 it took the interests of an US partner and controled 88% of Multigrain's capital. All this land would be destinated to soybean plantations. See: http://farmlandgrab.org/post/view/2324 ; http://farmlandgrab.org/post/view/18007 right now Mitzui is the wholly owner subsidiary
