In 2009, the Cresud argentine company said in its website to own 12 166 ha in Bolivia. Then, in 2011, the company sold 910 ha (from la Fon Fon farm, 3,6 millions US$) and purchased 5000 ha in Santa Cruz department. These are divided in two estates: a farm has 2,660 hectares of sugarcane and was purchased for US$ 8.4 million (or US$ 3,150 a hectare), according to Cresud. The second farm has 2,340 acres with soybeans and was acquired for just under US$ 5 million.
