several agreements; the first oral agreement was given in the late 1990's on December 11, 2008, the ministry of environment and forests gave in-principal approval for the diversion of the land, on condition of implementation of a rehabilitation programme in the area in 2010, the government rejected forest clearance for bauxite extraction in April 2014, the Supreme Court declared that all previous leases "which were operating under second deemed licence since 2007, were illegal, and hence needed fresh environmental approvals" (http://www.dnaindia.com/money/report-sesa-sterlite-to-focus-on-bauxite-sourcing-goa-mining-this-fiscal-1996533 )
