Designed primarily for hydropower generation. Also includes the development of an irrigation scheme for agricultural development. Irrigation of over 30,000 hectares of lands- proposed area is located about 32km North East of the Dam site. Crops under consideration include but not limited to maize, sorghum, yam, cassava, soya bean, pepper, cashew, sugar cane, cabbage and tomatoes. It is not clear who the beneficiaries of the agricultural development will be.
