The MASEN set up a series of projects according to its corporate social responsibility (CSR) policies. These included the provision of sanitary infrastructure such as a mobile hospital stationed for two days a year in the principal village of Ghessate, school buses, dormitory for girls, stables for sheep and goats, welding courses, sponsorship of local marathon, vacation for children, and allocation of funds for NGOs that support rural agricultural development, etc. However, CSR projects do not provide the promised direct benefits and are not accessible to all the people in the area.
