Some of the land was allocated to farmer associations in 1984. The farm suffered from a severe drought in 2013, in fact Botswana had to import crops to make up the difference.

There is a high demand from individuals to purchase these farms from the current owners. The market price for 500 hectares is around 4 million Pula.
