(2016) In 2009, the government allowed export through Thailand duty free and in 2010 it was reported by their Ministry of Agriculture that contract farming was the least successful in Burma because they did not want Thai traders to trade with ethnic groups. Although it is not stated if the said deal is already operational or if the information was gathered through interviews and feasibility studies or if because the deal is already operational and the information was gained through experience.
