Comment on land area | Dekel has been granted rights over 176 oil palm estates covering 2,363 hectares of land within a radius of approximately 80 kilometres of Ayenouan village. The company has planted 1,886 hectares of oil palm at these agricultural sites (Bonua and Aboisso).
Dekel has contracts with over 5,000 local smallholders and cooperatives covering 27,000 hectares of existing plantations. The contract with smallholder farmers covers an 17,000 ha of land. The contract with cooperative (Coopalen Cooperative) covers 10,000 hectares.
A further 500 hectares will be planted in the near term close to the Mill.The Company also intends to commence its second area of operations in Guitry, where it has rights over 24,000 ha of land for palm oil development.
