the collaborating companies FGV and PLM are exploring the possibility of a joint collaboration with the view of setting up a joint venture company. They signed a MoU stating that they jointly scout for greenfield and brownfield opportunities for establishing rubber plantations, targeted to be about 30,000 hectares for the first phase. For the 30000 hectares in this abandonned deal, only rubber was planned. Sugar cane and oil palm was planned on other "We hope to conclude this in December or early next year and then we will plan to grow rubber trees on 30,000 hectares in Myeik. [...] In addition to this, he said, FGV also wants to emulate Felda's social scheme in Myeik and was studying the feasibility.
