Comment on intention of investment
The purpose of Galp Buzi was to develop a project in Mozambique that focused on biofuels. Their plan included: Constructing a biofuel refinery in the town of BΓΊzi, Sofala Province, Mozambique Cultivating oilseeds on a large area of land (estimates suggest 25,000 hectares) Processing the seeds into biodiesel Exporting some of the biofuel produced to portugal.
Crops area/yield/export

  • Jatropha [current]
Comment on crops
There are indications that the first batch of biodiesel was planned for export around 2013-2014, but it's difficult to say definitively if the project reached that stage.
Overall comment
There is no information suggesting Galp Buzi produced sugar. Their focus seemed to be on biofuels, specifically biodiesel derived from oilseeds.
