El Tejar SA, based in Saladillo, Buenos Aires province, is the Argentina’s largest agricultural producer, operating in Argentina, Brazil, Uruguay, Paraguay and Bolivia. About 40 percent of its total production comes from Brazil, where it grows 170 000 ha (mostly on leased lands), mostly soybeans and corn. Hedge fund Altima is the largest stakeholder, with about 40 percent. Capital Group holds about 13 percent of El Tejar’s shares, while a group of founding members of the company has a little less than 40 percent. In 2012 El Tejar sold all the facilities in Argentina
