Negotiation status

Comment on negotiation status
This land has been given in concession to Ecodesarrollo S. A. in 2001, and then, in 2003, the concession was divided in two part, Ecodesarrollo granting rights to Agricola Cervera. This change in the pattern of concession and the non respect of their commitments by the concessionnaires provoked the cancellation of the contract by the province of Salta. The two companies didn't invest as agreed in forestry, ecoturism, civil infrastructures, etc., but only in agriculture to cultivate (mainly soy, a little bit of wheat and corn). The two companies cultivate each one approximately 20 000 ha in soy. Agropecuaria Cervera S.A accepted to renegociate its contract and to give back 30 000 ha of the concession for local producers, and to give at least ten percent of its benefits to the province.
