There are no records of negative impacts to date. However, the potential for environmental impact is real, especially given that the company has a permit for water extraction. The project site is an area of expansion for eucalyptus cultivation, which began in 2009 and is growing rapidly. While reported impacts are currently localized, there are larger initiatives such as the Forum for Addressing Eucalyptus Impacts, which is scheduled to be launched in 2024.
